Kenzie's First TP-ing Adventure......

Tuesday afternoon, Kenzie took a late nap and didn't get up until after 6pm. During dinner, I asked Chip what we should do that night...we had no plans and Kenzie was good to go for quite awhile. We thought about swimming, but Kenzie gets cold in the pool at night pretty fast, so it ends up being a lot of work for not much time in the pool. So we thought some more and decided it would be fun to TP our friends Clay and Rachel. Rachel is having a baby in November and will be having her ultrasound soon to find out boy/girl and do all the routine measurements and checks. We decided it would be fun to incorporate our gender prediction in the TPing job. So here are the supplies we brought:

The diaper even held a nice chocolately surprise:

We knew it wouldn't be a very spectacular job for a few reasons.
1. It was broad daylight
2. I am 31 weeks pregnant.....
3. We had a 14 month old "helping"
4. They live in a 2nd floor apartment

We got there and Kenzie was ready to go! (She never gets to play with the toilet paper at home, so I am pretty sure it was a dream come true for her....)

First we did the door. So exciting. This was probably the most "TPed" part of the whole place.

When we went around to do to the balcony, Kenzie and I worked on unrolling the toilet paper.

Then it was Chip's job to try to throw the TP really hard up to the balcony. It was so light and hard to throw that some pieces took 2-3 tries.

It was really funny to me, because as we were doing it, Chip kept looking around and trying to be sneaky. Like I said before, it was broad daylight. I also kept reminding him that I didn't think we would get into too much trouble, even if someone did call the cops or something....I mean c'mon....a giant pregnant woman and a 14 month old helping with a PATHETIC TPing job.....you just CAN'T get in trouble with those things on your side.....

Here is our "finished product". Haha. Such a miserable job:

After the TP, it was time to launch the "poopy diaper":

So...funny thing happened at this point. Chip had gotten so used to throwing really hard to get the TP up there, that when he went to throw the diaper, he totally overthrew and it landed on the 3RD FLOOR BALCONY instead of the 2ND!!!! Whoooops!!!

Luckily, Chip just happened to have a melted 3 Musketeers bar in his car and since we conveniently had Kenzie along, we also had another diaper..... The presentation wasn't quite as cute, but here was diaper #2:

Chip successfully tossed it up, even hitting the window a little bit (hoping to get them to come out and look). But they didn't come look. So we knocked and ran away, hoping they'd try to get us. Chip saw them open the door, take down the TP, and close the door. I waited, watching the balcony...and nothing happened. We went around to the other side of the building....wondering what we interrupted....small group? a nice dinner? We had no idea whether we should stay or leave. We contemplated it long enough that they ended up coming out : ) They had found the balcony and diaper and figured it was us.

Of course Clay and Chip couldn't let all the TP go to waste. We know some other people in the complex, so they took it over and re-used it on their balcony.

Kenzie REALLY liked this part:

After that, Clay and Rachel invited us in for awhile. We caught up a little bit and enjoyed yummy ice cream. (I had mine as a Rootbeer Float....mmmm! Thanks Clay and Rachel!!)

It's really hard to see in this picture, but if you look SUPER closely, you can see a BIT of an icecream mustache above Kenzie's lip. She REALLY liked the treat, too : )

Another day at the zoo.........

June 12th, 2008

Wednesday night we decided that it would be great to go to the zoo on Thursday morning. I had baked some bran muffins and we had yogurt and grapes, so we decided it would be an easy breakfast to pack and take with us to eat there so we could get an early start before it got too hot. As soon as Kenzie woke up Thursday morning (around 7:15ish) we all got up and threw on clothes, packed up the diaper bag and jumped in the car. We got to the zoo right around 8am and it was already pretty warm, but not TOOO bad.

We went in and ate our breakfast first. There were a bunch of tables in the shade and not many people there yet. It was so nice : )

Kenzie getting bites from dad.....

I still look half-asleep : )

Kenzie not paying attention to her bite from mom......

After breakfast, Kenzie climbed the tower to watch the giraffes. She LOVES doing this! I like when we go at an uncrowded time, because it is so much harder for her and scarier for me when she is trying to climb up with a bunch of "big kids" going up and down all around her. She can go up fine, but still needs some help back down. I tried to get a picture of her at the top, but the sun was making it to hard. Here she is with Daddy helping her come down.....

Across the bridge....

Almost at the bottom...only a couple steps left!

Here we are in front of the giraffes. I wanted to get one in front of that giraffe that was eating way in the background : )

This is the creepiest bird ever. Chip and I both hate these storks. I would be really scared to meet one of these in the wild......they are probably almost as tall as me!

Here we are walking to the next thing......

Kenzie decided she needed to get out and push her stroller. This works out well for us because she just puts her head down and pushes away. We can guide the stroller wherever we want her to go : ) Makes it nice to not have to worry about her running off!

After we looked at the animals (mostly just the monkeys, orangutans, and elephants) we went to the water play area. Kenzie LOVED it : ) It was definitely already warm enough outside by 9am for her to enjoy the cool water. Here are a few of her playing in the water:

She is still too scared to actually run through any of the water fountains...but she likes walking up to them and trying to put her hands in. She also really enjoys the drains..............

After the water area, we had a coupon the zoo sent us for a free Icee. We couldn't believe that normally they would be $4.50! So Kenzie got to try her first Icee. Who doesn't love a frozen sugar slush with fruity flavoring?! MMMmmm.....We were worried she was going to get a brain freeze the way she was gulping it down!

On our way out I had Chip take a "belly shot" of me on the bridge, just cause I thought it would make a nice background. So here is my belly....one day before I turned 31 weeks.

Chip decided to get some of he and Kenzie leaving the zoo too....since he had the camera out anyway.

It was a good morning and lots of fun! Kenzie took a great nap when we got home : ) She was all worn out from her big adventure. We are so thankful to have our zoo membership this year! I hope we can get it again next year!!

Some work and some play and some yuck......

Wednesday, June 11th

Wednesday was Chip's second day off this week. It was a good day : ) I had a doctor's appointment at 9am, so we loaded the family in the car at 8:30am. I have LOVED how involved Chip has been in both pregnancies. His job makes it really easy for him to come to appointments and I think out of BOTH pregnancies he has only missed 2-3 appointments total!! I love that my doctor actually KNOWS who the dad of my babies is and remembers him : )

Anyway....everything was GREAT with Baby R. I was 2 days away from being 31 weeks and measured at 31.5...as long as you're within 2cm you're considered good. I hadn't gained ANY weight (I think I might have even lost a lb??) since my appointment 3 weeks ago and I was glad about that because I have been eating hardly ANY sugar and it is nice to know that it seems to be helping! Everything is going so well that I don't have to go to another appointment for another 3 weeks (34 weeks). YAY! Then I think after that I will go at 36 weeks and then maybe every week after that? Not sure.

So we were in and out at the doctor with a WONDERFUL report and got back home before 10. Kenzie went down for a nap and I worked for about 3.5 hours. Chip just did misc stuff. Kenzie got up and we ate lunch and then started our afternoon project of painting a dresser for the kid room. My parents are graciously letting us get some use out of it, so we could save some money and not have to buy one right now : ) But it needed a touch-up paint job. We were thinking ahead and put our bathing suits on ahead of time so that we could just go to the pool once we were done! Here is Chippie...painting away.....

While we were painting, Kenzie was playing in some water we gave her with a little paint sponge and also LOVING the rocks.

Chip got done painting and went inside to clean the brushes....Kenzie was still playing with the rocks. I was moving the drawers up against the wall to dry while we were in the pool. Kenzie came over to her water with a rock (not uncommon thing for her to do....). I saw her dip it in the water (also not uncommon) and then proceed to put it in her mouth (unfortunately...also not uncommon). I told her not to put it in her mouth and made the spitting sound we make to get her to spit it out and told her "yucky". She immediately spit it out (I think even before I was done telling her to), threw the rock into a cup of her water, and made the spitting noise, which she always does. But then, she proceeded to make the spitting noise a couple more times. I just thought she was really into the spitting noise but looked down and saw something around her lips. I thought "oh great...the rock was covered with dirt..." I start trying to get the dirt out of her mouth with my finger (luckily there wasn't that much...) and that's when I looked down into the water and see that the "rock" is now breaking apart.......IT WAS DOG POOP!!!!!!!! I was SO SO SO grossed out. I grabbed her as fast as I could and ran into the house and was frantically asking Chip what we should do, as I stuck her on the counter and started trying to rinse out her mouth the the sprayer on the sink (that was an interesting process...lol). He finally said "I dunno...brush her teeth??" So we took her into the bathroom and brushed her teeth. Here was the piece of poop.......

I wish people would pick up after there pets! ICK! So that was officially one of the most disgusted times of my life. I HATE knowing that my little girl put DOG POOP in her mouth....but at least she spit it out fast and didn't eat it!

After that whole incident, we went to the pool at our complex as we had planned : ) Here are some pictures I got of Kenzie and Chip. It felt AMAZING to cool down after painting in the heat!

So that was our Wednesday! We had a fun family day!

Some Catching Up To Do!

So...it has been awhile and I have some posting to catch up on!

First, I have wanted to write about our Memorial Day! We had a VERY BUSY day that day : ) But it was a lot of fun. Here was how our day went:

We had a BUSY BUSY day. I can hardly believe how much we fit in!!! Here was our day:
7:15- Kenzie woke us up, bright and early (for us) LOL. But it was good since we had a lot to do!

7:30-8:00am- Breakfast time for Kenzie....she ate a TON...a whole egg with cheese on top, half of a toaster waffle, about 5 pieces of watermelon, some of Chip's cold cereal.....hmmm.....that might have been it, but for a little girl it seemed like a lot of food!

8:15ish- I gave Chip a haircut

9:00- Kenzie went down for a nap

9:15ish-10:50am- Our friends, Tim and Jennifer, came over to watch LOST. We have watched EVERY EPISODE of ALL FOUR SEASONS with them (they live in our same condo complex, so we can just walk over to each other's condo...) so we had 4 regular episodes on our Tivo to watch...plus the 2 hour season finale. We watched 2 last night and 2 today- still have to watch the finale sometime!!!

10:50-11:10am- We hurried around like mad, getting dressed, packing the diaper bag, waking Kenzie, changing her diaper, etc to be in the car LEAVING at 11:10! We were going to Golden Corral (a buffet restaurant) in Casa Grande to meet with my parents, little sister, and brother's family halfway between here and Tucson for my Grandpa Jorg's birthday. His 79th birthday was a couple days later, so he planned his party for Memorial Day so we could all come : )

Noon-2pm- Lunch at Golden Corral...lots of good food/company/fun : ) The pictures below are from the lunchtime.

2-3:30pm- We decided to go to a nearby mall after lunch and my mom, little sister, and I shopped : ) This was a lot of fun...I haven't been shopping with them in a LONG time! My mom bought me 3 shirts and a pair of white flip-flops for my birthday (which isn't until July...but she never knows what to get me so she said she'd just pay for this as part of my present!) It was so much fun to get some new things to fit my growing belly!

4:15- We got home and Kenzie and Chip took naps....I worked on laundry and packing for our vacation to Coronado,CA. We left the next morning VERY early (we left for the airport at around 5:15am)

6:30- Dinnertime...more packing....more laundry.

Later that night.....Chip helped clean the whole house....vaccumm/bathroom/dishes/etc. so we could come home to a clean house : ) YAY! I worked on more organizing and packing and lists for what we need to pack in the morning and made banana bread.

PLUS....throughout the day we did EIGHT loads of laundry...yep.....EIGHT! Crazy huh?! (They aren't full-size loads...we have a stackable washer and dryer) It was so wonderful to come home to a clean house and no extra laundry besides our vacation laundry : ) HURRAY!!

So that was our Memorial Day : ) And here are some pictures:

My brother Dave and his wife Christina.....awww...aren't they cute? This was 3 days before their 9th anniversary!
